  Did You Know Any Jehovah's Witnesses That "Did" Drugs?

  my teenage daughter suggested to me that certain kids in well connected families were regular pot smokers.

  it was always hush hush because of their connections but evidently it was common knowledge within the "in" crowd.. i knew some adults that were on prescription pills but they had legitimate excuses for being "happy".

  of course, most jws i know of, medicate themselves on booze..

  i have noticed that quite a few people here swear and use profanity.

  an elder once told me this is quite common in the congregations he has been in.

  i was raised in so never allowed to swear and never got into the habit.

  Question about priviledges

  i am an unbaptised publisher and something happened (don't ask) and i had a "back room conversation" with 2 elders and they told me that i can't answer in the meetings or give talks for a while.this happened in the 1st feb 2010.my questions are:how long will i have to wait to answer again?do i have to meet with 2 elders again in the back room to talk about getting the priviledges back?what happens if i don't want to meet them in the back room again?if i refuse to be in the thocratic ministry school will/can they tell me that i am no longer an unbaptised publisher?please answer only if you are/was an elder or if you are sure.thanx.

  virtual jw world, where you study, go out in service, avoid holidays, gossip, pioneer, get to a certain level, be an elder, form committee mtg.s, df other members.

  What Stupid Things Were You Counseled For?

  i've always been told that i have a very good personality, that i'm humorous, etc.. one elder called me over and said that i was "smiling too much".

  the other elders talked to the elder who counseled me and he came back to say that i should be like i was .

  Hair!!! My reasoning .... do we have to look like dorks all the time. I swear they measured my hair with a ruler.

  I was counseled in High School, when an Elders daughter was seen making out like she was on the Titanic with another elders son. And the very same night she gave a talk about the dangers of dating. It IS WRONG!!! Since everyone was ratting me out on everything, I ratted her out. I was counseled by the Elders who were the Dad's. 2 years ago you said sister Polly was a good kisser and now you are informing us about what?? we could Public reproof you ... is that what you want?

  June 2010 Awake! more duplicity.....

  i was up in my mum's house the other night (she and my father are still active jws) and saw the june 2010 awake!.

  as i browsed through it i came to watching the world.

  as i read the article on the "baby mammoth" i noticed that there seemed to be some important information missing, as well as some good old watchtower selective quoting.. bear in mind that devout witnesses would never question the organisation or suspect that an article could be misleading them far less go and research the information to check it's authenticity.. the article mentions the age of the animal at time of death (3 to 4 months) and the fact that it was well preservedin the ice and that it's airways and digestive systems were clogged with silt.. right at the end of the article they say that the "scientists were lead to believe" the animal "must have drowned".

  Such as how could an animal have been in ice for 40,000 years when according to JW dogma there was a worldwide flood only 4000 years ago prior to which they allege there was a sub tropical world where there could not exist large Glaciers such as the one described?

  The Earth conditions always slipped by me when thinking of Ice Age. Your right it couldn't have happened. Hahaha

  i have a number of friends that take a half dozen pills a day!.
